Seahawks Finish Seventh At NEC Championship Meet

Junior Heather Wolf (Pine Brook, NJ / Montville Township) finished 18th in 20:35 while just missing out on All-Conference accolades at the 5K 2013 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship at the Immergrun Course on the campus on Saint Francis U. Thanks to Wolf's impressive performance, Wagner finished seventh with 160 points.

Bryant's Eimear Black dominated the field in winning the individual title with a time of 17:46. Despite Black's dominance, Sacred Heart was able to claim the team title with 44 points. The Bulldogs finished a scant nine point behind the Pioneers in second place (53 points), followed by Mount St. Mary's (104 points), Robert Morris (108 points), the host Red Flash (128 points), Central Connecticut (133 points), the Seahawks (160 points), Fairleigh Dickinson (187 points) and St. Francis Brooklyn (218 points).

Senior Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) was the second member of the Green & White to finish, placing 23rd in 20:56. Freshman Nicole Bell (Montague, NJ / Sussex County Technical) registered another strong performance in finishing third on the team and 27th overall with a mark of 21:07.

Senior Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) finished 41st  (21:37) and classmate Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) was 56th (22:31) in their final NEC Cross Country Championship to round out the scorers for Wagner.
