Bronx, NY - Senior Samantha Lauro (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) took 26th (19:39.81) to help lead Wagner to a sixth-place finish at the 5K METS Championship at Van Cortlandt Park.

Columbia's Madeline Rathbun claimed the individual title with a mark of 18:24.66 while helping the Lions, which scored 25 points, to the team championship. NYU (64 points) took second, followed by Rutgers (78 points), Fordham (91 points), Manhattan (176 points), Wagner (206 points), Seton Hall (216 points), St. John's (231 points), Fairleigh Dickinson (232 points), St. Francis Brooklyn (237 points), Hofstra (262 points) and Saint Peter's (325 points).

Senior Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) was the second Seahawk to finish, placing 50th (20:35.42). Close behind Bivona was freshman Nicole Bell (Montague, NJ / Sussex County Technical) in 58th (20:44.46).

Junior Heather Wolf (Pine Brook, NJ / Montville Township) was 63rd in 20:46.52 with senior Cameo Kirk (Ocean Port, NJ / Shore Regional) rounding out the scorers in 68th (21:08.28).

Wagner returns to action on Friday, October 25 at the 3K CCSU Mini Meet.
