RESULTS
West Long Branch, NJ - Wagner recorded two first place finishes on the day as the Men's and Women's Track teams headed to Monmouth for the first indoor meet of the new year, for the Blue-White Invitational.
Freshman
Skylar Johnson (Point Plesant, NJ / Point Pleasant Borough) was victorious once again in the pole vault for the third consecutive meet, clearing 4.41 meters (14-06) on his way to winning the event.
For the women, it was sophomore
Nicole Cooper (Sicklerville, NJ / Washington Township) who recorded a first place finish in the triple jump, leaping 11.03 meters to best the competition.
The men also received a second place finish from sophomore
Saquan Mitchell (Newark, NJ / Central) in the 60 meter dash, crossing the line in 7.07 seconds. Junior
Dan Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph's By The Sea) and sophomore
James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) both took fourth place finishes in the 800 meters and mile respectfully, as Zaccariello finished his 800 in 1:57.45 while Naglieri finished his mile in 4:24.12.
The women received two second place finishes from sophomore
Kayleigh Macchirole (Greenport, NY / Bishop McGann-Mercy) and junior
Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) in the 400 meters and 3000 meters, as Macchirole finished the 400 in 1:00.26, while Bivona crossed the line in 10:26.40 in the 3000. Sophomore Kelly Periera (Howell, NJ / Freehold Township) took third in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:20.70.
The Seahawks return to action Friday, as both the Men's and Women's teams will travel to compete in the Gotham Cup on Friday, January 11th.
