RESULTS

New York, NY
– Wagner College sophomore Nicole Cooper (Sicklerville, NJ / Washington Township) was a champion in the triple jump Friday, as the Wagner College Track & Field team competed at the Armory Track & Field Center for the NYC Gotham Cup. Cooper's leap of 38-03.25 was a personal best, and her best of the season by almost two feet.

The 4x800 team of sophomore Kayleigh Macchirole, sophomore Kelly Pereira, senior Morgan Kaisershot, and junior Becca Valente also had an indoor season-best time of 9:57.02, which was good enough for fourth place.

On the Men's side, senior Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) ran a season-best and was close to his own school record in the 5000 meters, crossing the line in 15:12.51 which was good enough for fifth place. Another season-best came from sophomore Saquan Mitchell (Newark, NJ / Central) in the 60 meters, as he finished in sixth place in 7.02 seconds.

Freshman Sklyar Johnson (Point Plesant, NJ / Point Pleasant Borough) was unable to win the pole vault for the first time this season. He did however improve on his already school record in the event, clearing 14-11, and taking home sixth place.

Other noteworthy performances from the Seahawks included Timothy Mendez in the 1000, finishing in 2:31.80, James Naglieri in the 3000 finishing in 8:37.97, Alexis Bivona in the mile, finishing in 5:15.81, and Matthew Kane clearing 6-03.25 in the high jump, then leaping 20-05.75 in the long jump.

The Seahawks will travel back to the Armory next weekend to take part in the NYU Challenge. Events will start at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19th.
