Spector, Iannacone Lead Wagner At Monmouth Invitational

The Wagner men's cross country team placed a solid seventh out of 14 teams in the 8K Monmouth Invitational at Holmdel Park. Again leading the way for the Seahawks was senior co-captain Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood), who crossed the finish line ninth out of an impressive field of 143 runners in a time of 26:47.5.

Right behind Spector was classmate and fellow co-captain Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep), who came in 13th with a mark of 26:57.4.

Freshman James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) continued his strong collegiate start, finishing 39th in 28:04.3.

On the heels of Naglieri was sophomore Daniel Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea), who took 42nd with a mark of 28:07.8.

Freshman Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) rounded out the scorers for the Green & White, placing fifth on the team and 108th overall in 30:24.6.

East Stroudsburg won the team title with 63 points, followed by Sacred Heart (73), Mount St. Mary's (127), Monmouth (133), St. Francis (NY) (137), CCSU (145), Wagner (177), Quinnipiac (178), Felician (192), Bryant (233), Robert Morris (322), NYIT (326), FDU (353) and Ocean Community College (399).

The Seahawks are next in action on Saturday, September 24 when the Green & White participate in the Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
