Cambridge, MA – Wagner's water polo team dropped their second game of the weekend as the Crimson of Harvard topped the Seahawks 12-8 in the non-conference match up on Sunday. Down 9-3 at the half, Wagner was able to hold the Crimson to just three goals in the second half as the Seahawks rallied late in the game knocking in one in the third and four in the final quarter.
Chelsea Beck (Reading, PA / Wilson) led Wagner with four goals and four steals. The junior Seahawk is currently ranked first in goals scored this season with 37 and second in all-time steals with a career total of 135.
Co-captain
Laura Vanderbent (Shillington, PA / Governor Mifflin) found the back of the net twice and recorded six steals. The Keystone State native is currently ranked second on the team in steals with a total of 36 and fourth on the team in goals with 22.
Senior duo
Natalie Pyrz (Harleysville, PA / Souderton Area) and
Carina Giles (Mohton, PA / Governor Mifflin) each added one goal in the loss as Pyrz registered one assist and Giles recorded two.
Wagner currently stands at 11-8 overall as they look to start conference play on Saturday, April 9th as the face off against Marist and Villanova.
