Wagner Tops Brown 14-10

Lewisburg, PA – Wagner water polo finished with a 2-1 record at the ECAC Tournament to improve to 8-2 overall. The Seahawks split Saturday's session with a loss to Princeton in their first game and a 7-5 win over Marist in the afternoon. Wagner matched up with Brown for the sole Sunday game and topped the Ivy League Bears 14-10.

Becca Hanngings (Lansdale, PA / North Penn) led the Seahawks in scoring by amassing an impressive five goals and two assists. Hannings accumulated a total of nine goals at the tournament and currently stands third on the team in total goals with 17.

The current leading goal scorer, Lauren French (Colmar, PA / North Penn), added three goals, one assist and drew seven exclusions opposite the Bears. French recorded a total of six goals during the weekend which puts her at the top of the list with 20 total on the season.

Six other Seahawks found the back of the net for the Green & White. Co-captain Carina Giles (Mohton, PA / Governor Mifflin), Chelsea Beck (Reading, PA / Wilson), Molly Robinson (Lansdale, PA / North Penn), Natalie Pyrz (Harleysville, PA / Souderton Area) and rookies Sidney Hoshko (Coronado, CA / Coronado) and Kaylee Ginnane (Tampa, FL / Coronado, CA) each notched on one goal in the 14-10 victory.

Between the pipes, Laura Karbach (Abington, PA / Germantown Academy) had 10 blocks and one assist.

Wagner travels to Thousand Oaks, CA on March 5th for the two-day California Lutheran Tournament where they will take on Occidental, CSU Northridge, California Lutheran and Whittier.
