Wagner Captures Program's First Win Over Bucknell At Maryland Invitational

Junior Molly Robinson's Goal Clinched The Win For The Seahawks
College Park, MD – Wagner toppled Bucknell for the first time in program history by a 13-12 count while avenging last week's 11-4 loss to the Bison when junior Molly Robinson (Lansdale, PA / North Penn) found the back of the net with 5.83 seconds remaining, propelling the Green & White to a 13-12 victory.

Leading the Seahawks 10-7 entering the final quarter, the Bison notched on an additional two points as Wagner added five to tie the game at 12-12. As the teams prepared for overtime with ten seconds remaining, junior Lauren French (Colmar, PA / North Penn) stole the ball and sent it to Laura Karbach (Abington, PA / Germantown Academy) between the pipes. The sophomore goalkeeper tossed a long ball to Becca Hannings (Lansdale, PA / North Penn) who fed Robinson the assist for the game winning goal. This marks the first goal of the season for the Keystone state native.

Lauren French (Colmar, PA / North Penn) led the Seahawks with four goals, five exclusions drawn and one steal as junior Becca Hannings (Lansdale, PA / North Penn) was perfect two for two on shooting. Chelsea Beck (Reading, PA / Wilson) initiated the fourth quarter scoring run for the Seahawks by amassing three goals in the quarter.

Senior co-captians Laura Vanderbent (Shillington, PA / Governor Mifflin) and Carina Giles (Mohton, PA / Governor Mifflin) along with rookie Sidney Hoshko (Coronado, CA / Coronado) each added one goal in the historical win over Bucknell.

Wagner faces off against the hosting Terps at 7:00 pm.
