Spector Earns Fourth-Straight All-NEC Accolade; Men Finish Seventh

FINAL RESULTS

Holmdel, NJ -
Senior Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) became the first Wagner harrier in school history to accrue fourth-straight All-Conference honors with an 11th-place finish at the 8K Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship at Holmdel Park while leading the Seahawks to a seventh place finish.

Spector clocked a time of 27:10.70 and would have most likely have finished higher had he not fell midway through the run due to slick conditions as a result of the unruly weather that has doused the Northeast.

Central Connecticut State's Sam Alexander was the individual winner with a time of 25:59.10 with his teammate Craig Hunt finishing second with a mark of 26:06.90 while helping propel the Blue Devils to the team title (54 points). St. Francis (PA) was second (67 points), followed by Mount St. Mary's (131 points), Monmouth (133 points), Robert Morris (163 points), Quinnipiac (171 points), Wagner (173 points), Sacred Heart (178 points), St. Francis (NY) (185 points), Bryant (195 points), Long Island (305 points) and Fairleigh Dickinson (326 points).

Senior Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) was the next finisher for the Green & White, placing 23rd with a mark of 27:46.90.

The surprise of the meet for Wagner as the performance of freshman James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland), as the rookie finished 34th with a time of 28:06.90.

Taking fourth on the team and 42nd overall in 28:21.80 was sophomore Daniel Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) while freshman Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) rounded out the scorers, placing 68th (29:15.60).

Spector, Iannacone, Naglieri and Zaccariello will next compete in the NCAA Regional Championships at the Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, NY, on Saturday, November 12.
