Spector Captures Second Career Title At Father O'Neil Invite

After missing last week's meet due to injury, senior Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) bounced back in a big way in capturing his second career title at the 8K Father O'Neil Invitational. Spector, who was victorious on the same course a year ago, defeated 32 other runners with a time of 26:24.

Fairfield University won the team title with 22 points with Wagner taking second with 48 points. The University of New Haven (71 points) and the University of Bridgeport (99 points) rounded out the four-team field.

Placing second on the team and fifth overall in 26:51 was senior co-captain Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep).

Freshman James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) was the third member of the Green & White to finish for the second week in a row, finishing 15th in 28:13.

Rounding out the scorers for Wagner were freshman Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) and sophomore Michael Baio (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) as the pair came in 23rd (31:01) and 25th (31:32), respectively.

The Seahawks return to action on Friday, October 21 at 3:30 pm when the Green & White compete at the CCSU Mini-Meet.
