New York, NY – The Wagner College women's lacrosse team dropped its season finale at Columbia, 17-9 despite two goals apiece by junior attack

Erika Bulken (Syracuse, NY/C.W. Baker).
With the loss, the Seahawks finish the 2010 campaign with a 3-13 record while Columbia improves to 6-7 on the season.
The Lions broke a 3-3 tie with a 7-2 spurt over the latter part of the first half to gain a 10-5 halftime lead. Columbia then put the game away by opening the second half with three consecutive goals in building a 13-5 lead en route to the 17-9 win.
Wagner won the battle of draw controls by a 16-12 margin but the Lions held a 29-19 lead in shots and a 17-8 edge in ground balls.
Also scoring goals for the Seahawks were senior midfielder
Teri Noll (Elbridge, NY/Jordan-Elbridge Central), sophomore midfielder
Melanie Garces (San Diego, CA/Westview) and junior attack
Karen Vitkus (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles). Junior goalie
Marcela Hernandez recorded eight saves.
Columbia was paced in scoring by Kacie Johnson and Brittany Shannon who tallied five goals each to account for 10 of the Lions' 17 goals.
