Rodgers, Lovallo, Hannings Post Career-Highs in Win over Siena

Sophomroe Becca Hannings
Brooklyn Heights, NY – Senior goalie Kelsey Rodgers (Anaheim Hills, CA/Canyon/Fullerton JC), sophomore Lauren Lovallo (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich), and sophomore Becca Hannings (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) had career games in the Seahawks' 12-6 win over the Siena College Saints on Saturday. Rodgers tied a career high with 22 saves, Lovallo added a personal-best three goals, and Hannings chipped in with four assists to help the Wagner College Water Polo team (15-17, 5-2 MAAC) to their third straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) win.

Wagner never trailed after jumping out to an early 4-2 lead in the first quarter. A 2-1 run by Seahawks in the second frame made the score 6-3 in Wagner's favor. Another 2-1 run in the third period put the Green and White comfortably ahead 8-4, but a four-goal fourth period punctuated another impressive Conference win for the Seahawks, 12-6.

For the second straight game sophomore Lauren French (Shillington, PA/North Penn) led the way offensively. French made the most of her four shots – scoring on each attempt. She has scored in seven straight games, which includes a remarkable 12 tallies in the last three wins.

Lovallo and sophomore Chelsea Beck (Reading, PA/Wilson) finished three goals apiece. Lovallo, who converted from goalie to center in her second season, has found the back of net five times during Wagner's current three-game winning streak. She entered the game with 10 career goals. Beck, on the other hand, extended her season-best scoring streak to 13 games. She has contributed one or more goals in every game since March 14th.

Junior Natalie Pyrz (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) and freshman Monique Martinet (Mission Viejo, CA/Mission Viejo) each chipped in a goal and an assist in the win.

In addition to Hannings' four helpers, junior Carina Giles (Mohton, PA/Governor Mifflin), junior Laura Vanderbent (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin), and Rodgers each finished with an assist.

The Seahawks' next game is against Iona College at 2:30 PM.
