Murray Named NC-Double-Eh Player Of The Week

Junior guard Tyler Murray (Toronto, Ontario / Eastern Commerce) has been named the NC-Double-Eh Player of the Week by the Canadian Basketball Report for the week of November 15-21.

Murray had another outstanding week for Wagner, averaging 19.5 points per game while shooting 62.5 percent (15-24) from the floor, including a blistering 77.8 percent (7-9) from beyond the arc as the Seahawks went 1-1. The Canadian native also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 37.5 minutes per game. He capped his big week with a career-high 21 points in a game-high 37 minutes of action to give the Green & White a thrilling 58-54 victory at Stony Brook (11/21). With Wagner trailing for the first time since the beginning of the second half, Murray drilled the go-ahead three pointer while giving the Seahawks an insurmountable 50-48 lead and sparking a 7-0 spurt . With the Green & White up three, he grabbed a crucial rebound while knocking down two free throws for his 20th and 21st points of the evening with just 18 seconds to go.

Murray began the week with a team-best 18 points in a game-high 38 minutes of action at defending Patriot League Champion Lehigh (11/15). He has now led the Seahawks in scoring in all three games while pacing all players on both teams in minutes in those games.

On the year, he is averaging 19.0 points per game (3rd NEC) while shooting 50.0 percent (22-44) (t-14th NEC) from the floor, including 56.3 percent (9-16) (5th NEC) from beyond the arc and 88.9 percent (8-9) (6th NEC) from the charity stripe. He also leads the league with 3.0 three pointers per game while playing a NEC-best 38.0 minutes per game.
