Nick Jones Earns Third Team All-Met Honors

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Nick Jones earned Third Team All-Met honors, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association announced on Wednesday.

Jones is the first Seahawk to earn All-Met honors since Melvin Council Jr. in 2024 and becomes the 37th selection in program history.

A native of Edgewood, Maryland, Jones was one of three NEC players named to the list, joining LIU's Jamal Fuller and Malachi Davis. Seton Hall's Shaheen Holloway and Hofstra's Speedy Claxton shared Coach of the Year honors, while Hofstra's Preston Edmead was named Rookie of the Year. The All-Met Player of the Year will be announced on Thursday, April 23.

Jones led the Seahawks with 14.3 points per game during the 2025-26 season, recording eight 20-point performances. In conference play, the Second Team All-NEC selection posted five 20-point outings over a seven-game stretch, highlighted by a 26-point effort in a win over FDU and a 24-point, six-assist performance against Le Moyne. He also recorded three consecutive 20-point games during that span — the longest streak by a Seahawk since Alex Morales in 2021.

In NEC Tournament play, Jones helped lead the No. 7 Seahawks to a 70-60 quarterfinal road upset over No. 2 Central Connecticut State, tallying 17 points and five rebounds. He followed that performance with 27 points and six assists against eventual NEC champion LIU in the semifinal round.
