Poughkeepsie, NY – Wagner College will compete at the ECAC Women's Collegiate Water Championships this Saturday and Sunday at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Seahawks sport a six-seed in the eight-team tournament. In their first match up they are pitted against third-seeded Iona College on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
The women battled to a 1-3 finish in their season opening tournament, the Princeton Invitational. The Seahawks made quick work of George Washington University, 11-5, in their first game before dropping an overtime decision to Bucknell, 9-8.
On Sunday, the Green & White fell to Maryland, 10-7, and ended the tournament with a one-goal loss to host, Princeton University.
#Alex Tomlinson (Telford, PA/Souderton)# ended the weekend at the Seahawks' leading scorer. She found the back of the net in each of Wagner's four contests. #
Lauren French (Colmar, PA/North Penn)# is the team's assist leader with three helpers. Goalie #
Kelsey Rodgers (Anaheim Hills, CA/Fullerton JC)# made 56 saves in four starts for a 67.5% save percentage.
