Boston, MA –
Sophomore Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY/Longwood) paced the Seahawks with a 62nd place finish in the Men's Cross Country NCAA Division I Regional Championships on Saturday held in Franklin Park in Boston, MA. Spector finished the 10-kilometer run in 33:09 as the Seahawks placed 28th out of 36 of the top teams in the northeast.

Spector showed a great improvement from his time one year ago, when he placed 151st at the event with time of 35:36. The two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Athlete of the Week has claimed Wagner's top spot in all seven events this season and 14 of the College's last 15 races dating back to his rookie year.

Three other strong finishes highlighted the Seahawks impressive day. The first came from graduate student Brian Halling (Amherst, NH/Souhegan), who placed 143rd with a time of 34:44. One second behind Halling was freshman Matt Driscoll (Lewiston, ME/Lewiston), who captured 144th place at 34:45. Finishing with the team's fourth-best time was junior Thomas Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place). Rammelkamp, who finished with the team's best mark at the 2008 NCAA Northeast Regional Championships (34:59), also showed improvement with a 34:52 finish for 149th place.

Rounding out the scoring for the Seahawks was sophomore Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) – placing 238th at 39:38.

Last season, the Seahawks' highest finish was Rammelkamp's 122nd mark. Spector's 33:09 finish is the fastest time a Wagner runner registered at the event since Derek Rammelkamp's (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) 2007 mark of 32:38.

Wagner finished with a combined time of 2:57.08. Their 736 total points ranked 28th overall behind Boston College (711) and ahead of Colgate University (761). Syracuse University won the event with a team score of 55 total points. Iona College's Ryan Sheridan was the individual winner with time of 30:36.
