Emmitsburg, MD - Mount St. Mary's handed Wagner a 7-0 loss in Northeast Conference (NEC) tennis action at the MSM Tennis Courts. The Mountaineers improve to 3-0 and 2-0 in the NEC while the Seahawks fall to 0-3 and 0-1 in the NEC.

Freshman Taylor Santoro (Absecon, NJ / St. Augustine Prep) put up a valient effort before dropping a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 decision to Patrick Plastow at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, junior Yirmeyah Beckles (Cincinnati, OH / Aquinas College) lost 6-1, 6-1 to Mike Salomon. Freshman Pierre Yuzon (Bakersfield, CA / Centennial) fared no better at No. 3 singles, falling 6-1, 6-0 to Thad Mostowtt. At fourth singles, Andrew Marinucci bested senior Scott Scriffignano (Morris Plains, NJ / Morristown) 6-0, 6-0. Classmate Zac Lewis (Colorado Springs, CO / Palmer) was also handed a 6-0, 6-0 defeat by Taylor Place at No. 5 singles. Sophomore Nicholas Apicella (Peekskill, NY / Peekskill) rounded out singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Jastin Mostowtt at the sixth slot.

Mount St. Mary's won all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.

Wagner hosts Rider tomorrow at 10:00 am at the Wagner Tennis Courts.
