Moon Township, PA – Robert Morris jumped out to a 14-4 lead, extended its lead to 48-25 at the half en route to its sixth consecutive win, a 104-56 defeat of Wagner.
With the victory, the Colonials improved to 12-7 on the season, 7-1 in the NEC while the Seahawks, who defeated Saint Francis (PA) in the first leg of this two-game Western Pennsylvania swing on Thursday, fell to 10-7 overall, 3-4 in the conference.
Inside force Rob Robinson was a perfect 9-of-9 from the field in totaling a game-high 20 points to lead six Colonials who hit for double figures. NEC Player of the Year candidate Jeremy Chappell had 17 points, followed by Gary Wallace (15), Jimmy Langhurst (14), Dallas Green (13), and Khalif Foster (10).
The Colonials shot 61% from the field while forcing 22 turnovers.
Wagner was led by senior forward
Llew Radford (Newport News, VA/ Heritage), who recorded his sixth double-double of the season with a team-high 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Fifth-year senior guard
Joey Mundweiler (Olathe, KS/ Olathe East) and fifth-year senior forward
Jamal Smith (Baltimore, MD/ Towson Catholic) added 11 points apiece.
A second-half three-point jumper by Mundweiler gave him 260 for his career, which ties him for ninth place on the NEC all-time three-pointer made list with current Monmouth head coach Dave Calloway, who made 260 for Monmouth from 1987-1991. Mundweiler is also just 11 three-pointers shy of passing Dedrick Dye for the No. 1 spot on the Seahawk all-time list. Dye made 270 three-pointers from 1999-2003.
Smith moved into 26th place on the Seahawk all-time scoring list and now has 1,120 career point Mundweiler is now up to 1,078 career points which is 32nd on the Seahawk all-time list.
The Seahawks are next in action on Thursday, January 22 when the Seahawks travel to St Francis (NY). Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
