Jersey City, NJ- The Wagner College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Saint Peter's College this afternoon at Jaroschak Field.
The game remained knotted 0-0 until the 81st minute when Brianna Taylor of Saint Peter's managed to garner a goal off a corner kick.
Sophomore forward Briana Vassallo (Saddle Brook, NJ/ Paramus Catholic) led the Seahawks in shots, notching three in today's game. Following close behind with two shots each were junior midfielder Dominique Bonura (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/ Immaculate Heart Academy) and sophomore midfielder Ashley Rastello (Manorville, NY/ Eastport-Southmanor).
For the game, Wagner led in the shots category (11- 3), while Saint Peter's held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks (5-4).
In goal, senior Leslie Reed (Indian Harbour Beach, FL/ Satellite) commanded the post once again for the entire 90 minutes of play, notching one save in the loss.
Wagner, which is now 2-3-1 on the season, comes home on Sunday to face off against the Crusaders of Holy Cross. Game time is set for 1 pm.
