Teaneck, NJ – Sophomore Derek Schultz (Ocean Port, NJ/Shore Regional) shined at the Fairleigh Dickinson University Patch Meet as the men's track & field team successfully kicked off the 2008-09 season with a number of impressive runs.

Schultz started things off with an outstanding finish in the 55m dash with a time of 6.40 resulting in a two-way tie with Kimarley Wilson of Saint Francis College for first-place.  But the 55m dash was not enough as Schultz kicked it into high gear in the 300m dash resulting in a 36.20 time good for third-place.

Matt Villane (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) trailed Shultz by a few spots in each race as the senior posted a time of 6.50 in the 55m dash for sixth and 37.00 in the 300m dash, good for another sixth-place finish.

Sophomore Brian Doxey (West Islip, NY/West Islip) pushed forward for fifth-place in the 1,000m run with a time of 2:45.40 while Seahawk newcomer Jeffrey Caravello (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) took sixth in the long jump with a measure of 5.43m.  Rounding out the top Seahawk finishers are graduate student Blake Lintelman (Coral Springs, FL/West Point Military Academy) with a 12.77m third-place toss in the shot put and junior Kevin Kearney's (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep) 1:27.10 time in the 600m run.

The Green & White will compete in one final meet before the New Year as they take on the competition of the Fordham University Invitational on Friday, December 12 in the Bronx, NY.
