Hackensack, NJ - Wagner lost to the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson University in a Northeast Conference match-up by a 3-0 score at the Rothman Center this afternoon. The Seahawks fell by scores of 18-30, 18-30 and 17-30 and are now 3-18, 1-6 NEC on the year while the Knights improve to 15-14, 5-3 NEC.
On Senior Day, it was one of the Knights' veterans that hurt the Seahawks the most and kept them out of the match. Junior middle blocker Lauren Boothby, playing for her final time at the Rothman Center, notched a match-high 15 kills and seven digs to boost her squad to the victory.
The Seahawks received respectable efforts from sophomore setter Gabi Hilk (Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. DuPont) who finished with 19 assists and sophomore libero Alex Klein (Crescent Springs, KY/Notre Dame Academy) who finished with ten digs.
The Knights held Wagner to a hitting percentage of .020 while they themselves attacked at a clip of .269.
Wagner heads into the last match of the season tomorrow when they travel to Hamden, Connecticut to take on the Bobcats of Quinnipiac University at 1 p.m.
