Junior utility Kimberly Watson collected several awards throughout the month of April, arguably the best month of her collegiate career. After starting every contest for the Green & White, Watson led the women's water polo team to a perfect 14-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) mark to win the league's regular season title. Her 102 goals, 33 assists, and 95 sprints won on the season led her to be named Co-Offensive Player of the Year and earned her a spot on the All-MAAC First Team. Her 95 sprints won broke her own single-season record from 2016 as she also climbed into the top ten all-time scoring (184), assists (105), and steals (153) list in program history. As the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Championship, Watson led the Seahawks to their fourth consecutive conference championship, defeating Marist 11-7 on April 30. The utility player was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player with ten goals, six sprints won, four steals, and two assists as Wagner became the first program in MAAC history to win four-straight titles. In addition to her accolades in the pool, Watson was one of eleven Seahawks named to the MAAC All-Academic team.Â
