Nijeria Carter joined the Seahawk women's basketball program as a graduate assistant in August, 2016 and enters her second season on staff at Wagner.
A 2015 graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management, Carter held several positions with the Eagles’ women’s basketball program as an undergraduate.
During the 2015-16 season, she served in the dual role of assistant equipment manager and coaching intern and also Carter also brings one year of experience as head manager for the Eagles.
“We are thrilled that Nijeria will be joining us this year. Her experience and enthusiasm make her the perfect fit,” said Jacobs. “She has a bright future in the business and we are happy she is here with us at Wagner.”
In each of the past three summers, Carter served as an assistant camp director for the Georgia Southern women’s and men’s basketball programs, each of whom compete in the Sun Belt Conference.
In addition to her responsibilities with the Seahawk women’s basketball program, Carter is pursuing an MBA degree during her time on Grymes Hill.
