After serving as an assistant coach with the Seahawk men's lacrosse coach for two years, Gary DiClementi, in 2018, will enter his second season in the role of associate head coach and fourth overall on Grymes Hill.
Prior to his arrival at Wagner, DiClementi served assistant coaching stints at Kenyon, Frostburg State, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
Kenyon averaged eight wins per season in DiClementi’s four seasons (2011-2014), highlighted by the 2012 season when when the Lords went 10-5 while earning a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Under DiClementi’s guidance, who served as defensive coordinator that season, Kenyon finished No. 16 in the nation goals against average. DiClementi, who took over as offensive coordinator in 2014, coached 15 All-Conference athletes during his tenure at Kenyon, including the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year.
From 2010-2011, he served as a graduate assistant-defensive coordinator at Frostburg State University in Maryland. Prior to moving to Frostburg St., DiClementi served as an assistant at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, from 2009-2010.
A native of Port Jefferson Station, NY, DiClementi was a standout long-stick midfielder at Drew University from 2006-2009.
As a junior in 2008, DiClementi helped lead the Rangers to the Landmark Conference and ECAC Tournament Championships before going on to earn First-Team All-Landmark Conference honors as a senior in 2009.
A top student during his collegiate days, DiClementi graduated Cum Laude, with a 3.53 GPA while majoring in Sociology with minors in Psychology, Business, and Ethics and was a seven-time member of the Dean’s List.
