Mike Margolis

Mike Margolis is in his first season as Director of Basketball Operations for the Wagner men’s basketball program. Margolis assists the coaching staff in the day-to-day operations while helping in practice evaluations, film breakdown and is directly responsible for a staff of five student managers. 

Prior to his arrival on Grymes Hill, Margolis spent this past summer working at the University of San Francisco where he served as an instructor for more than 150 students for Coach Kyle Smith’s Summer Basketball Camp. Over the length of camp, Margolis helped teach the campers defensive principles and techniques.

Margolis volunteered at San Francisco State under head coach Paul Trevor and assistant coach Vince Inglima as he worked closely with the Gators’ Synergy Sports technology in collecting data and using it to examine SFSU’s top-ranked matchup zone defense.

Margolis obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University back in 2015 in Public Policy while earning a certificate in Markets and Management Studies. He also served as Vice President of the Duke Cure Finders for Cystic Fibrosis.

In July of 2017, Margolis was selected as one of 65 participants the CBA Focus, a program associated with the NBA Las Vegas Summer League, where he majoring in the CBA/salary cap under the instruction of Larry Coon, a computer scientist and information technology manager at the University of California Irvine and is known for his expertise on the NBA collective bargaining agreement.
