Prior to her time on Grymes Hill, Wright spent five seasons during her career at the University of Maryland from 2020 to 2024. The Bethlehem, PA native started 98 of 102 games, logging over 5400 minutes on the field for the Terrapins, and helping lead the program to two Final Four appearances in 2021 and 2022 and one Elite Eight in 2023.

As a junior at Maryland, Wright earned the Big Ten and NFHCA National Defensive Player of The Week on October 5. 

Wright has been named a member of the 2023 All-Big Ten First Team, 2024 All-Big Ten Second Team, and NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region honors. She was also named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad in both 2020 and 2021 and earned Academic All-Big Ten nod in 2021. 

On the international stage, Wright took part in the U.S. Women’s Indoor National Team that captured the Pan American Cup in 2021, and later played for the U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team that won gold at the 2023 Pan American Cup.
