2023 Sophomore Season
Hurled 36 innings across 17 appearances and three starts... Pitched to a 2.81 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across eight appearances during conference play... Had seven scoreless outings over the course of the season, including three straight to end the regular season.

2022 Freshman Season
Appeared in 15 games, pitching 50.1 innings, earning the start 13 times… Picked up his first collegiate strikeout at Charleston (2/19)… Struck out a career-best eight batters at Mount St. Mary’s (4/2)… Finished the season with 27 strikeouts. 

Before Wagner: Four-year varsity baseball player at Allentown High School… Four-year varsity football player at Allentown High School.
 
Personal:  Majoring in undecided... Son of Lilly and Daniel Merkel... Chose Wagner because he preferred a smaller school close to home so his family could come to watch games.
