Greg Belson joined the Wagner baseball staff ahead of the 2025 season as pitching coach under head coach Craig Noto, a role he held for two seasons before transitioning into a volunteer pitching development role for the 2026 season.
Under Belson's leadership, Wagner has placed a pair of starting pitchers on All-NEC teams in both 2025 and 2026. In 2026, senior Colin Trizuto was named to the All-NEC second team and earned All-Tournament honors at the conference tournament. Trizuto threw three complete games, closing out the season with a 4.57 ERA across 15 starts. Senior Jake Toporek was selected All-NEC first team in 2025 after finishing the regular season with a 3.29 season ERA, which he worked down to 2.66 in NEC play. He finishes with a perfect 8-0 record, with 82 innings pitched across the 2025 season.
Belson spent five seasons pitching in the minor leagues, closing out his playing career in 2005 with the St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League. In the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft, Belson signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization out of Montclair State University. While with the Red Hawks, he threw 205.1 innings and struck out 179 across the 2000-2001 seasons.Â
