Danny Marsh

Former Seahawk hurler Danny Marsh '18 wrapped his second season as Director of Baseball Operations in 2021 after returning to his alma mater in 2020.

Throughout his career on Grymes Hill, Marsh was a vital part of the Wagner pitching staff. The Monroe Township, NJ native signaled his arrival with a strong rookie season in 2014, earning four wins and striking out 30 batters over 54.0 innings of work. As a sophomore the following season, the former Green & White right-hander made just one start, striking out four batters over 5.2 innings against the University of South Florida, before missing the rest of the 2015 season due to injury. In 2016, he was able to make two starts returning from injury.

His 2017 senior season proved to be the highlight for Marsh. He made 13 starts on the year, going 6-2 with a miniscule 1.96 earned run average (ERA), which was the lowest in the Northeast Conference (NEC) and ranked seventh in the entire nation at the conclusion of the regular season. Named co-captain prior to the season, Marsh tossed 78.0 innings, giving up just 17 earned runs. He had eight games of five or more strikeouts while pitching two complete games.

On April 30, he struck out a career-best 11 batters over eight innings in a 12-0 victory over LIU Brooklyn. As evidenced by his performance vs. the Blackbirds, Marsh was tough on conference foes throughout the season, going 4-2 with a 1.90 ERA in seven starts. In 42.2 innings, he struck out 45 hitters while limiting batters to a .218 batting average. A two-time NEC Pitcher of the Week, Marsh was the starting pitcher in Wagner's stirring 6-5 walk-off victory that ended top-seeded Bryant's chance at repeating as league champions. In this NEC Tournament win over the Bulldogs, the former Monroe Township High School product went seven innings, recording seven strikeouts.

He capped his career with selections to the 2017 All-NEC and All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) First Teams, in addition to being named to the 2017 Northeast ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team.
