Wagner College Athletics

Junior Season (2010): Started all 21 games on the backline for the Seahawks ... recorded her lone point of the year on a converted penalty kick in Wagner's 4-1 victory over Holy Cross (9/5) ... tallied six shots on the year, three of them on net.

Sophomore Season (2009): Started all 19 games at defense ... finished with 10 shots, seven on goal.

Freshman Season (2008): Started all 19 games ... scored the game-winning goal in the Seahawks’ 2-0 victory over Mount Saint Mary’s (11/2) ... also recorded an assist vs. NJIT (9/10) ... notched seven shots on the year, putting all seven on goal.

Before Wagner: Hails from Bethesda, MD, where she attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School ... participated for four years on the varsity team under coach Rob Kurtz ... was a two-year team captain ... helped lead the Battlin Barons to the Maryland State, and Regional Championships in 2004 and 2006 ... assisted her team to four consectuive division championship appearances (2004-2007) ... named First Team All-Met, All-State and All-Gazette ... recorded a school record 57 assists and 11 goals ... also played nine years of ice hockey for the Chevy Chase Club.

Personal: Daughter of Billie-Jean Bensen and Don Marette ... has one sibling, Griffen ... majoring in biology.

Reason Behind Wearing #9: “I wanted the lowest jersey number available, I hate high numbers.” 

Life Aspirations: “I want to study medicine and hopefully become an orthopedic surgeon or a pediatrician.”
