Biography

2011 Freshman Season
Started half the season at shortstop while posting a solid rookie season … Batted .217 (20-for-92), including a blistering .326 (14-for-43) during NEC action, with 11 RBI, nine runs, three stolen bases, one double, one triple and three walks … Had five multi-hit games … Played in 34 games, making 28 starts … Went 3-for-5 with two RBI – including the game-winner on a suicide squeeze with one out in the bottom of the ninth – in extra-inning win over Mount (3/18) … Followed that up by going 3-for-7 with two RBI in doubleheader split against the Mountaineers (3/19) … Was 2-for-3 with a RBI triple and a run in game-two over CCSU (3/26) … Collected a pair of hits in the series finale against the Blue Devils (3/27) … In win over Iona (4/28), went 2-for-4 with a career-best three RBI … Finished the season with hits in each of his final three games, going 3-for-7 during that time.

Selected by the Houston Astros in the 45th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft … Played his prep ball at the Perkiomen (PA) School under the direction of Kendall Baker … Started all four years at shortstop while earning four letters for the Panthers … Helped Perkiomen (PA) to four-straight Tri-County Conference Championships … As a senior, batted .528 with 30 RBI, 12 doubles, three triples and three home runs while helping the Panthers to a 24-4 record … Ranked as the third-best prep shortstop in Southeastern Pennsylvania by the Philadelphia Inquirer … Hit .500 as a sophomore … Led Perkiomen (PA) in stolen bases in each of his last three years and hits in his last two years … Played summer ball the South Florida Bandits and the U23 Jays in Carolina, Puerto Rico … Also lettered in cross country, earning MVP honors in his first two seasons … Won the Frank Stetano Award as the top Upper School Athlete as a sophomore … Prep teammate of Gaby Ramirez ...
