LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Wagner College women's golf team opened its 2026 fall campaign at the Bucknell Fall Invitational with shaving strokes off its team score in every consecutive round to secure a 10th-place finish (+85, 925 total)
.
The Seahawks opened the three-day event at Bucknell Golf Club with a first-round 313 (+33), trimmed six strokes on Day 2 with a 307 (+27), firing a tournament-low team total of 305 (+25) on Sunday.
Leading the charge all weekend was junior
Marifer Calleja Pineda, who secured a top-10 individual finish (T8) with a 9-over 219
. Calleja lowered her score each day, opening with a 74 (+4) featuring three birdies, following up with a 73 (+3), and capping her week on Sunday with a team-best 2-over 72, a round highlighted by an even-par 36 on the front nine.
Sophomore Lani Park had a good performance, placed near the top of the leaderboard, tying for 24th overall at 17-over (227). After an opening 77 (+7), Park locked in her play over the final two days, posting matching rounds of 75 (+5). Park plays were highlighted by dominant back-nine play, including an even-par 34 in Round 2 with birdies on both par 3s.
Freshman
Lauren Silva placed tied for 52nd (+28, 238) while showcasing a strong bounce-back. After a tough second round, Silva responded on Sunday by matching her opening 78 (+8), keeping errors off her front nine and securing the bottom half of the team card.
Sophomore Palwasha Ali tied for 60th (+32, 242), having a breakout second-round 77 (+7). Ali turned in a 2-over 36 on Saturday's back nine, highlighted by seven pars to help fuel Wagner's surge throughout the tournament.
Rounding out the lineup, freshman
Leah Sheerin tied for 71st (+38, 248) while demonstrating progress every time she stepped onto the tee. Sheerin recorded four strokes off her opening 86 to card an 82 (+12) in Round 2, then capped her tournament with 80 (+10) on Sunday that began with six consecutive pars.
