PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Wagner College women's soccer team played to its second consecutive scoreless draw, battling Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon at Sean Sweeney Field.

The Seahawks (1-5-2, 0-0-0 NEC) controlled much of the offensive action, outshooting the Hawks (4-2-2, 0-0-0 A10) 12-7 and placing eight shots on goal compared to three for Saint Joseph's. Wagner also generated six corner kicks, including four in the second half.

Wagner played with a player advantage for the majority of the contest after Saint Joseph's had a player shown a red card in the 23rd minute. The Seahawks immediately threatened, as junior Kelly Gallagher put a shot on goal before sophomore Madeline Hayes followed with another attempt.

The Seahawks continued to create opportunities after halftime. Junior Anayah Rivera forced a save in the 50th minute before Gallagher and junior Alana Arjona each put attempts on target minutes later. Junior Alana Goldsmith added a shot on goal in the 67th minute.

Gallagher led the Wagner attack with six shots, including four on goal. Rivera, Arjona, Goldsmith and junior Deirdre Meberg also recorded shots on target.

On the other end, junior goalkeeper Abigail Marcello made three saves to earn her second consecutive clean sheet. Saint Joseph's nearly broke the deadlock in the final minute, but a shot struck the crossbar to preserve the scoreless draw.

Next, the Green & White will open NEC play on Sunday, Sept. 20, when Wagner hosts Central Connecticut State in a rematch of the 2025 NEC Championship game, which the Seahawks won 2-1. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Hameline Field.
