Ellicott City, MD – The Wagner men's golf team wrapped up its weekend at the NEC Championship, finishing in 10th place after the third and final round on Sunday at Turf Valley Resort. The Seahawks posted a team score of +16 in round three to move up one spot on the leaderboard, bringing their overall tournament score to +50.
Freshman
Guillermo Ochoa Valencia paced the Green & White on the final day, firing a team-best +1 (72) to climb five spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 55th. Ochoa Valencia had a strong showing, carding an impressive five birdies during his final 18 holes.
Sophomore
Daniel Cassidy was Wagner's top overall finisher for the tournament, concluding the weekend tied for 17th place at +8 overall after shooting a +6 (77) with three birdies on Sunday.
Senior
Alavid Melo Iturralde moved up three spots to finish tied for 39th at +15 overall, posting a steady +4 (75) with a pair of birdies on the back nine. Freshman
Emilio Zapiain also bumped up three spots on the final day to tie for 54th, shooting a +5 (76) with two birdies.
