Men’s Golf Battles Deep Field at Turning Stone

VERONA, N.Y. — Wagner wrapped up the weekend at the Red Bandanna Invitational, battling through 54 holes on the demanding par-72 Kaluhyat Course at Turning Stone Resort Casino.

The Seahawks navigated a challenging opening round, then battled through the tough tournament layout over the final 36 holes.

Sophomore Cooper Joyce set the pace for the team, firing a consistent 78 in round two and closing with an 82 to post 240 (+24) and claim a tie for 41st individually. Senior Juan Martinez had a strong performance, bouncing back from an opening 93 to shoot 84 in round two and a team-low 73 (+1) in the final round, while senior Chris Solari (251, +35) and Jack McMahon (258, +42) provided key counting scores, Solari finished his tournament with steady rounds of 82 and 80, and McMahon stacked back-to-back 84s to steady the lineup.

The Seahawks used the first two days to adjust to the demanding layout, answering on day three with a strong team effort highlighted by Martinez's four-birdie, one-over 73.

Wagner turns the page to its next fall tournament on Sept. 20 and 21 at the Laker Fall Invitational in Erie, Pennsylvania.
