STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner women's lacrosse team used a dominant first half and a strong fourth quarter to earn a 16–5 victory over Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon at Hameline Field.

Prior to the game, seniors Kristina Pisano, Shae Saracino, Shae McGinty, Erin Rooney, and Emily Ryan were honored as part of Senior Day.
Wagner (5–8, 5–2 NEC) came out firing, scoring the first five goals of the contest to take control early. Junior Amelia Logan opened the scoring, followed by tallies from junior Alex Wright, sophomore Sydney Mulroony, and two from Ryan, as the Seahawks built a 5–1 advantage after the first quarter.

The Green & White continued to apply pressure in the second frame, outscoring CCSU (1-12, 1-6 NEC) 4–1 to take a commanding 9–2 lead into halftime. Saracino and Wright each found the back of the net, while Logan added her second of the contest. Junior Lea Cini capped the half with a goal in the final seconds.

CCSU showed signs of life in the third quarter, scoring three times to cut the deficit to 9–5. Mulroony responded for Wagner with a late goal to halt the momentum and give the Seahawks a 10–5 lead heading into the final frame.

The Seahawks put the game away in the fourth quarter, erupting for six unanswered goals. Mulroony led the charge with two goals in the period, while Pisano, junior Sydney Ecker, Ryan, and Logan each added tallies to secure the 16–5 victory.

Mulroony paced the Wagner offense with eight points on four goals and four assists, while Logan added four points on three goals and one assist. Ryan also recorded a hat trick, finishing with three goals, while Wright chipped in two goals.

Defensively, Wagner held CCSU to just 13 shots and forced 22 turnovers, while also controlling the draw, 19–3.

In goal, freshman Isabella Odland earned the first win of her career with four saves over three quarters of action, while sophomore Hannah Smith added one save in relief.

Wagner will return to action next week as the Seahawks travel to Washington, D.C., to face Howard on Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m.
