PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Wagner College women's lacrosse team dropped its 2026 season opener to CAA member Drexel by a score of 16-3 on Vidas Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Seahawks (0-1, 0-0 NEC) were led by senior Kristina Pisano who scored both of the Green & White's goals in the first quarter. The Needham, Massachusetts native found the back of the net 13 times during last year's campaign, second amongst returners — trailing only Amelia Logan's 15 goals scored during 2025.
After two quarters of play, Drexel (2-0, 0-0 CAA) maintained a 9-2 lead over Wagner.
The Seahawks would strike in the fourth quarter on a free position shot from sophomore Sydney Mulroony. The Rockaway, New Jersey native tallied three goals during her first season on Grymes HIll. Junior Grace DeCarolis recorded 10 saves as Drexel put all 26 of its shot attempts on target.
The Dragons went 15-16 (93.8%) on clears while the Seahawks went 16-20 (80.%) in the category. Both teams turned the ball over 14 times; meanwhile, Drexel held a 15-5 advantage in draw controls.
Drexel also picked up 24 ground balls to Wagner's 15.
Junior Alex Wright earned team-best four draw controls, sophomore Sadie Orefice caused a team-high two turnovers, and juniors Rileigh Baggett and Kendra Hamilton both collected three ground balls to lead the Seahawks in the category.
Next up, Wagner welcomes CAA member Monmouth for an 11 a.m. start on Saturday, Feb. 14 on Hameline Field for the Seahawks' 2026 home opener.
