STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner College men's basketball team continues NEC play at home on Sunday, January 4, hosting Stonehill inside the Spiro Sports Center. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m., with live coverage available on NEC Front Row, featuring Joey Wahler and Ryan Peters on the call.
Sunday's contest marks the seventh all-time meeting between the programs, with the series tied at three wins apiece. The teams have split the season series in each of the last three years.
Stonehill (3-11, 0-1 NEC) opened conference play with a 70–55 home loss to New Haven. The Skyhawks are led by head coach Chris Kraus, now in his 13th season at the helm. Stonehill ranks seventh in the NEC in scoring (67.1 ppg) and second in rebounding (39.4 rpg). Sophomore Hermann Koffie leads the team with 14.8 points per game, ranking seventh in the conference. The Skyhawks were picked to finish third in the NEC Preseason Coaches Poll.
Wagner (6–6, 1-0 NEC) enters the matchup riding a five-game winning streak after opening NEC play with a 79–72 road victory at Chicago State. Graduate student

Nick Jones led the Seahawks with 17 points apiece. Gray knocked down four three-pointers, while Jones added five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Sophomore

The Seahawks currently lead the NEC in rebounding, averaging 40.5 boards per game. Fitch paces the team with 6.8 rebounds per contest, ranking seventh in the league. Wagner is also tied for second in the conference in scoring (77.1 ppg) and ranks fourth in assists per game (14.7).
A win on Sunday would give Wagner consecutive NEC-opening victories for the first time since the 2020–21 season and extend its winning streak to six games, the program's longest since that same campaign.
Following Sunday's contest, the Green & White will continue conference play on Thursday, January 8, hosting defending NEC champion Saint Francis for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off at the Spiro Sports Center.
