BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — The Wagner College women's lacrosse team landed in third for the NEC's 2026 preseason poll, the conference office announced Thursday, with LIU as the unanimous favorite and Stonehill sitting in second.
Wagner is coming off a share of the regular-season NEC title in 2025, the team's third time to win at least a share of the title.
Wagner lost to LIU in the semifinal round of the 2025 NEC Tournament, ultimately landing six players on the All-NEC team. The team was also selected for the NEC's Sportsmanship Award for the spring.
Heading into the 2026 season, the Seahawks' senior defender Erin Rooney is the only returner that was named to an All-NEC team, earning Second Team honors. Recently, junior Amelia Logan, junior Rileigh Baggett and senior Shea Saracino were named as captains.
The Seahawks failed to make an appearance in the top-two of the NEC preseason poll for the second time in 12 seasons.
The Green & White have finished in the top-three of the NEC standings ten out of the last 11 seasons.
Wagner is set to start their season on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Drexel at 3 p.m. EST matchup at Vidas Field.
