Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Wagner College field hockey team (1-2, 0-0 NEC) picked up its first win of the 2025 season with a 2-0 win at Lehigh (1-1, 0-0 Patriot League) on Friday night.
Junior Natalie McGivern scored both of the Seahawks' goals in the third quarter to grant the Green & White the lead heading into the fourth.
After a scoreless first half, McGivern broke through midway through, finishing a chance to put the Seahawks ahead 1-0. Four minutes later, the West Deptford, NJ native converted off a fast break assist from junior Floortje Leunisse to double Wagner's lead.
Defensive efforts from freshman Julia de Leeuw, sophomore Erika Parker, sophomore Romy Matthies, senior Claire Evans, senior Hailey Bianchino, and goalkeeper Saar van Dalen earned the clean sheet, keeping Lehigh out of the cage despite nine total shots and four penalty corners from the Mountain Hawks. The Seahawks recorded 11 shots with seven being on target.
McGivern, Leunisse, and juniors Felicitas Herrero and Victoria Gonzalez-Lopez all attempted shots on target during the contest.
Next up, Wagner will host Vermont on Sunday, September 6 at 12:00 pm at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex.
