NORFOLK, V.A. - The Wagner College field hockey team (1-4, 0-0 NEC) dropped a non-conference matchup to the Old Dominion Monarchs (2-3, 0-0 Big East) at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex on Friday evening.
Goalkeeper Saar van Dalen recorded five saves in 60 minutes of play, with four saves happening in the first quarter. The Seahawks were outshot 17-4 and faced 12 shots on goal from the Monarchs.
Offensively, junior Floortje Leunisse registered three shots on goal while freshman Julia de Leeuw added her own attempt. The Seahawks drew three penalty corners during the match. In the end, Wagner fell 7-0 on the road to Old Dominion.
Next up, the Seahawks begin NEC play against the Fairfield Stags on Friday, September 19 for a 3:00 pm meeting at the Wagner College Field Hockey Complex.
