Salvador, Brazil - Wagner women's water polo's rising junior Maylen Sampedro Tarela is set to represent Argentina at the World Aquatics Championships from July 11 to August 3 and World Aquatics Women's U20 Water Polo Championships from August 10 to August 14.
Sampedro Tarela will compete in the women's preliminary round on July 10, her first match will happen July 12 and the second match will happen July 14.
She will also compete in the women's preliminary rounds for the World Aquatics Women's U20 Water Polo Championships from Sunday, August 10, through Tuesday, August 12.Â
Sampedro Tarela was previously the top scorer in the Sudamerican Games in Peru. She also competed in the FINA World Women's Junior Waterpolo Championships 2021 in Israel, where Argentina finished 10th overall.
Over the course of the past season, Sampedro Tarela appeared in 29 games, where she scored a total of 44 goals. Her standout performances happened during the game against Siena on April 6th 2025, and the game against Iona on March 16 2025, where she scored the most goals. She also had 12 games with 2 or more goals.
