North Easton, MA - The second-seeded Wagner College women's lacrosse team dropped its 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament semifinal round meeting with third-seeded LIU Sharks by a score of 13-7 at W.B. Mason Stadium on the campus of Stonehill College on Thursday.
Senior Ella Marino scored the first goal for either side with a successful free position shot less than three minutes into the game.
LIU tallied the next four goals to head into the second quarter with a 4-1 lead.
Second quarter goals from freshman Sydney Mulroony, sophomore Amelia Logan, and Marino brought the Seahawks within one goal with five minutes remaining in the first half.
After thirty minutes of game action, the Sharks held onto a 6-4 lead.
In the third quarter, the Sharks held the Seahawks scoreless while adding five goals of their own to lead 11-4 heading into the final period.
Marino scored her third and fourth goal of the game in the final frame to go along with an assist to junior Léa Cini for the Seahawks' final goal of their 2025 campaign.
In the end, LIU would prevail, 13-7, after finding the back of the net twice in the fourth quarter.
Marino led the Seahawks with five points on four goals and one assist while Logan added two points with one goal and one assist.
Marino finishes the season as the points leader for the 2025 Seahawks, scoring 39 points on 28 goals and 11 assists.
Senior Angelina Skowronski led the Seahawks in caused turnovers with two while adding three draw controls. Skowronski concludes her senior year as Wagner's leader in caused turnovers with 25.
In net, sophomore Grace DeCarolis saved seven shots in 60 minutes to bring her season total to 112 saves, 800:45 spent in net during the year, and an overall record of 8-7.
The Seahawks conclude their 2025 season as NEC regular season co-champions for the third time in the program's 28-year history. The 2025 Wagner Seahawks also set a new program record for conference win percentage, going 8-1 in the regular season, to finish with an NEC mark of 88.9%, eclipsing the 2023 roster that went 7-1 during its regular season campaign.
