Syosset, NY – The Wagner College women's tennis team closed out their regular season with a 5-1 loss to NEC rival LIU on Friday, April 11.

In doubles play, sophomore Dariana Vera and freshman Victoria Madail secured a hard-fought 7-5 win on court #2. However, the Seahawks dropped matches on courts #1 and #3, allowing LIU to take the doubles point.

In singles action, Madail continued her impressive form, earning a straight-set victory (6-2, 7-6) on court #2. Despite her efforts, the Seahawks couldn't carry the momentum forward, as the Sharks claimed wins on courts #1, #3, #4, and #5. The match on court #6 went unfinished.

Up next, the Seahawks will head to Mercer County Park in New Jersey for the NEC Tournament, taking place Thursday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19.
