Williamsburg, VA — Steady rain disrupted the opening round of the 2025 NEC Women's Golf Championship on Friday, halting play at Kingsmill Resort.
Tee times began as planned at 8:00 a.m., but by 10:30 a.m., persistent downpours left the course unplayable. No golfer completed more than eight holes, and six groups didn't even make it to the tee before play was suspended.
No Seahawk played more than five holes before the stoppage.
The tournament will resume Saturday at 8:30 a.m., with players continuing from where they left off. The revised format will now feature 36 holes of play on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
