Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team fell to the Hofstra Pride by a score of 18-6 on Hameline Field on Tuesday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Seahawks were put on the board thanks to senior Ella Marino who scored her second of the season after breaking free, Marino was assisted by senior Emily Ryan for her third assist of the year.Â
Seniors Kendra Hall and Katie Siverson would find the back of the net in the second quarter as well, both scoring goals with less than one minute remaining in the halftime. Ryan would collect her second assist of the day while senior Kristina Pisano earned her first assist of the day.
At the half, Hofstra led over Wagner, 8-3.
In the third quarter, the Seahawks would add three more goals off the stick of senior Sophia Colver, Hall, and then sophomore Amelia Logan. Marino was credited with the assist on Hall's goal as senior Kendall Tabobandung received the assist off of Logan's goal.
Hofstra would extend its lead to 12 by the end of regulation to prevail, 18-6, over Wagner.
The Seahawks collected a season-high 14 draw controls, compared to 12 draw controls for the Pride.
Next up, the Green & White will be back on the road for its first Northeast Conference (NEC) game of the 2025 season against Stonehill. Opening draw control is set for noon in North Easton, MA.
