North Easton, MA - The Wagner College women's college team dropped its first Northeast Conference (NEC) matchup of the 2025 season to the Stonehill Skyhawks by a score of 18-7 at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Stonehill began the contest scoring the first four goals of the opening frame. The Seahawks would respond with a run of their own, scoring three straight unanswered goals off the sticks of seniors Ella Marino, Katie Siverson, and Kendra Hall.Â
Sophomore Amelia Logan and senior Sophia Colver were responsible for Wagner's second quarter goals, as Colver found the back of the net with five seconds remaining before the first half break.
After 30 minutes of game action, Stonehill held a 8-5 lead over Wagner.
In the third quarter, the Skyhawks would extend their lead after outscoring the Seahawks, 3-0, during the frame. Entering the final quarter of play, Stonehill held a 11-5 lead.
In the fourth, the Seahawks added three more goals from Marino, Logan, and freshman Sydney Mulrooney which were all assisted by Kendra Hall. In the end, Stonehill would prevail, 17-8.
On the day, Hall earned four assists to lead the Seahawks roster with 12 points (7 G, 5 A) on the season.Â
In net, sophomore Grace DeCarolis saved seven shots to bring her season total to 48 saves in her second year on Grymes Hill. DeCarolis also added five ground balls during the contest.
Siverson grabbed a team-high nine draw controls. As a team, the Seahawks collected 15 draw controls as the Skyhawks secured 13.
Next up, the Green & White will continue NEC play against Saint Francis U on Saturday, March 22 in Loretto, PA. Opening draw control is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
