Newark, DE - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team was defeated by the Delaware Blue Hens by a score of 14-6 in Delaware Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Katie Siverson scored four goals to lead the Seahawks' roster offensively. Siverson leads the roster with seven goals on the year. Senior Sophia Colver was responsible for Wagner's other two goals to bring her season total to four.
Sophomore Léa Cini dished out two assists while sophomore Amelia Logan and senior Kendall Tabobandung both added one assist each.
Junior Kristina Pisano recorded a team-high four ground balls and one caused turnover.
In net, sophomore Grace DeCarolis saved a season-high 15 shots, earning a save-percentage of 51.7% against the Blue Hens. On the year, DeCarolis recorded 31 saves during her second year on Grymes Hill.
Delaware would take a 6-2 lead heading into halftime.
As a team, the Seahawks recovered more draw controls than Delaware, beating the Blue Hens in the category by a score of 13-11. Senior Ryan Murphy collected five ground balls while Siverson ended the game with four draw controls.
In the end, Delaware would prevail over Wagner, 14-6. Wagner's highest scoring quarter came in the fourth when the Seahawks found the back of the net three separate times.
Next up, Wagner will welcome the Hofstra Pride to Hameline Field for a 6:00 pm opening draw control on Tuesday, March 4.
