Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's tennis team suffered a tough loss at home against Saint Francis U on Saturday, March 15.
The Seahawks started strong by winning the doubles point with victories on courts #1 and #2. Freshman
Liepa Sataite and
Claudia Lindsey triumphed 6-3 at #1, while sophomore
Dariana Vera and freshman
Victoria Madail secured a 6-2 win at #2.
In singles play, Madail continued her strong performance, extending her win streak with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at #2 singles. Graduate student
Daniela Hernandez also stepped up, clinching a 6-2, 7-5 win at #3 singles. However, after securing three points, the Seahawks were unable to maintain their momentum as the Red Flash won their matches on courts #1, #4, #5, and #6.
The Seahawks will return to action on Saturday, March 22, as they travel to Washington, DC, to face Howard.
