East Meadow, NY — Wagner opened its spring slate against Hofstra at the Eisenhower Park Golf Course and the two teams finished the match in a 307-307 tie.
The stroke-play match had the two teams even with their five individual scores. Elise Fujita's 73 led the Seahawks and had her shooting the same as Hoftra's Regina Cantu Chavez and Kaylie Porter. Those three led all golfers the match.
Freshman Maria Calleja shot a 76 on Friday, followed closely by senior Ximena de la Garza, who shot a 79.
Senior Aisha Rodriguez shot a 79 and junior Riliegh Leighton rounded out the contingent of Wagner scorers by shooting an 82.
In terms of the Seahawks' other attendees, freshman Bree Council shot a 76, junior Lillian McNally shot a 78, junior Emma Shelby shot an 83 and junior Josephine Sawyer shot a 78.
The team's next match will be against St. Joseph's on Saturday, March 22 at Town and Country Golf Links in Woodstown, New Jersey.
